Like Christmas Day, Easter and our very own Coastal Challenge some events take place no matter what the weather. On 29th December North Down showed what a hardy bunch they are with a fine turnout for the annual Mince Pie Run. Leaving the Marquis Hall in Bangor in miserable conditions Ian Blayney and Trevor Nicoletti led a group of over 45 riders for a short ride down the peninsula.  As per previous years it was well represented by friends and families and despite the damp conditions everyone enjoyed themselves.

Sun 27th November saw the final round of the Ulster Cyclo Cross series. As usual North Down put forward a strong team representing a number of categories. Duane McCreadie came back from England, as promised, to contest the final round. Duane was racing the Mountain Bike support race and it was to his first outing on his new mountain bike. Considering that this was the first time the bike had turned a wheel in anger his mid table finish was a fine result.

Most travelled up in the North Down bus though Garth made his own last minute travel arrangements.

The fabulous weather and City centre location drew out the crowds for the day with every ‘cross event now proving a big draw for spectators.
