Killermetre Time Trial Wed April 4th

No Comments on Killermetre Time Trial Wed April 4th

Good turnout for the first event on the North Down calendar with some good

times despite the cold, wet and blustery conditions. Excellent to see some
of our female members putting in some competitive times which should
hopefully encourage a few more of our ladies to try the club events in the
future.

Sportive Program

One of the largest aspects of our club calendar is our touring
section. These are non-competitive events with lunch breaks etc along
the way. There is generally a choice of distance so really these are
events that should suit anyone’s ability!

The club have put together a program of leisure events that we will be
actively encouraging members to participate in. These will be mostly
flattish events of 50 to 60 miles, sometimes with a longer option. The
events are as follows,

Sun 22nd April. Kings Moss Sportive. Departing from Ballyclare Rugby
club at 10.00 am. Sign on from 09.00 am. Rolling 55 miles course. Pre-
register for £15.

Sun 27th May. Over the Quoile promoted by La Lanterne Rouge and
departing from Loughinisland at 09.45am. £10 entry fee.

Sun 17th Jun. Bangor Coastal challenge, Our own event departing from
Ballykillaire. It would be great to see large numbers of the “pink and
black” contingent.

Sun 29th Jul Causeway cycle challenge promoted by Bann wheelers and
leaving from Coleraine Rugby club. Choice of 60 or 100 mls round the
Antrim coast.

Sun 19th Aug. Tour of the North coast promoted by Bann Valley road
club and departing from Portglenone leisure centre. 60 miles on flat
roads.

Sun 23th Sep. Torr Head challenge promoted by Madigan. Departs from
Balllygally car park at 10:30 am. There is a 50 mile or 80 mile option
with the 80 miler having some hills.

On some dates we hope to get the use of the club bus for
transportation and it will be available for the 22nd April. Hope to
see you there.
